Instabox to open 55 parcel lockers in Basic-Fit clubs in the Netherlands

Package delivery company Instabox and gym chain Basic-Fit enter a new partnership where Instabox places 55 smart parcel lockers in clubs in the Netherlands, with the intention to scale up further. All members and local residents can now enjoy lightning-quick and hassle-free shipping.

Basic-Fit has generous opening hours, and more and more Basic-Fit clubs are open 24 hours a day. This makes the clubs ideal for the flexible collection of parcels. Now, members and local residents don't have to wait at home for their package, as they can pick up their parcel at a Basic-Fit location when convenient for them.

"With this new partnership with Instabox, we make it easy for our members and others to pick up their packages anywhere, anytime. We are happy to be able to offer a new service to our members on their way to the gym", says Roel de Best, Product Manager at Basic-Fit.

Therefore, we are very proud and happy with this cooperation, in which we place 55 parcel lockers at the entrance of Basic-Fit clubs. Instabox has had excellent traction with some of the most significant merchants since its inception in the market. During last year, Instabox's number of terminals in the Netherlands grew from four to eleven, and the number of employees is now 1500 compared with 600 at the start of last year. How smart lockers work

During the checkout process at their favorite webshop, consumers can choose delivery via a parcel locker. They will then immediately see the delivery time, but they can pick up the parcel from the locker whenever it suits them. To do so, consumers use the unique access code in their track and trace link. The locker only opens when a consumer enters the correct code. This way, consumers never have to stand in line to pick up a package.
